success of on line businesses?

Hey everyone! any other moms out there that are starting up an on line business? I'm starting small, selling some apparel designs, but I am looking to learn how to build it up for extra income for the family, and maybe, flexibility!

Any good war stories?

HI. I also have an online business. I have found you have to put your website out there everywhere and tell your friends all about it. Basically walk and talk you business to everyone you bump into. Mine is pretty easy since my customers will always be my customers for the residual income.

I agree. You have to promote, promote, and when you think you can't promote anymore, you must still PROMOTE!!!! Walk, talk, and breathe your business!

We are struggling to get sales on our site. I dont know what to do. Promote like crazy!

Well I'm the Director for a State Pageant (which is a preliminary pageant to the national pageant) and the National Office does an amazing job of promoting the National website which generates alot of leads and great traffic for the state websites. I also run several mom related websites. What I love the most about it is a literally do like 90% of my work from home on the computer and over the phone.

The keys to getting sales are

-to market like crazy!!- Have your site everywhere you can, exchange links, use google adwords, post on forums, and yahoo groups, etc..

-be genuine. When people do get to your site, let them see who you are , not just what you offer

-have a clean clear easy to navigate site. Don't make it too hard to search for an time or to check out.
